A teenager struggles a lot to establish themselves in their life. In spite of this struggle, teenagers are misunderstood by their parents and society also. Parents and other elderly members of our society used to think that teenagers are completely obsessed with alcohol and other bad stuffs.
Exactly the scenario is completely different from what parents and society used to think. I am trying my level best to interact with my audience with the help of this blog. Through this blog, my aim is to give an overview on the Teenager struggle which is faced by them with their growing age in their daily life.
                                                
Which age group is mainly termed as teenagers?

A person whose age ranges between 13 to 18 years falls under the category of teenagers. Another important term which is associated with a teenager is adolescence.  According to the World Health Organization, a person whose age range is between 10 to 21 can be considered as an adolescent. A person who has crossed his/her 20th birthday will be no longer considered as a teenager.

·         Can we compare the behavior of a toddler and a teenager?

Yes, we can compare them to some extent. Both of them are always in a try to discover a new thing to quench their thirst of curiosity. Behind all these discoveries the original motive of a toddler and a teenager is completely different. Toddlers used to discover without knowing anything. On the other hand, teenagers used to discover new things under a lot of pressure.

 What are the significant changes which can be noticed in a teenager?

Teenagers have to go through a lot of significant changes in terms of physically, emotionally and socially. A teenager has to suffer a lot due to this hormonal ups and downs throughout the day. This abrupt changes in hormonal level is mainly responsible for teenager struggle which they have to face.

Physical changes which take place in a teenager is different for both boys and girls:

For Girls:
1.      The first sign of puberty in girls is development in the breast.
2.      Significant changes can be noticed in the weight and height of the person.
3.      The onset of the menstrual cycle.


For Boys:
1.      Change in voice  can be noticed.
2.      Development of secondary sexual organs.
3.  Facial hair, along with body hair starts growing.

Emotional changes which can be easily noticed in a teenager:

1.      Sudden mood swings.
2.      Increase in sensitivity levels.
3.      Increase decision-making ability.

A teenager has to go through some social changes also:   

  •   Teenagers try their level best to make their own identity.
  •  Teenagers try to ask for more independence from parents.
  •  Teenagers try to decide which is right or wrong for them.


Teenagers Struggle

Different types of Teenager struggles which are faced by them:
  •          Depression can be considered as one of the most serious type of teenager struggle. According to a survey it has been found that almost 13% of the teenager used to suffer from depression. Continuous peer pressure from parents to do better in studies, spending too much time on social media and electronic devices and heartbreaks results in the development of depression.
  •          Bullying is another burring problem among teenagers. Bullying plays a significant role in increasing teenager struggles. In the year 2017, a survey is conducted in United States of America and the results are very shocking. Almost 20% of teens have suffered very badly from bullying. In the last few years, bullying has changed its form into cyber-bullying. These days teenagers uses cyber-bullying as one of the most common way to insult someone.
  •          Another important struggle that is faced by a teenager is an academic problem. According to statistical data, it has been found that total 6 % teenagers drop out of school every year in America only.
  •          It has been medically proven that 19% of the teenager struggle in their life due to obesity. Obesity harms the life of a teenager. Obese teenagers are highly susceptible to different types of diseases. Not only diseases obese teenagers are easy targets of bullying.

At the end of this blog, an easy conclusion can be drawn out of the content that the life of a teenager is not at all easy. Teenagers have to struggle a lot to keep their existence. It's now time for the parents and society to break their stereotypical thinking about teenagers. Everyone must support them especially the parents. As we all know teenage is the most crucial phase of any kid's life.
